Named "Best Party Venue" by Philadelphia Magazine in 2010, the historic Mask and Wig Club offers two rental spaces. The downstairs Grille Room holds our bar along with a working fireplace and baby grand piano. Our theater upstairs can be set up for dining and dancing and has a stage for your band or DJ. Seating accommodates 180 guests.

In Philadelphia, it would be hard to find an eating and drinking club as unique or colorful as the Mask and Wig Club. The Clubhouses' history traces back to the early 1800’s, during which time it served successively as a church, a stable and carriage house, and dissecting rooms for Jefferson Medical College before being acquired by Mask and Wig in 1894. The clubhouse, designed by noted architect Wilson Eyre, is home to a fine collection of early Maxfield Parrish artwork and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Had my wedding here!!! Talk about being an interesting venue, the M&W fit our needs perfectly seeing that my husband and I both work in theatre. The decor is incredible, as the entire downstairs is lined in beer steins. They have a baby grand piano that comes with the rental, too! You will have to pay a price-per-head for the bar, but do not let that scare you off, it's totally worth it! We were able to design our own bar selection, and the bartenders...oh my god, the bartenders ROCKED! All my guests raved about the bartenders!!! Kate, the house manager, is great to work with too. She really has it together and runs a smooth operation. I highly recommend the M&W as a wedding venue as there is a downstairs and upstairs available to your party, as well as dressing rooms, a bouncer, coat check and beautiful bathrooms! Not to mention it is located in one of the nicest areas in the city!

Facility restrictions All decorations must be reviewed and approved by the Club Manager prior to your event. Paints and markers of any kind are prohibited except for use on poster board. No fasteners that penetrate any portion of the building will be used in or around the Clubhouse. No adhesives that leave a residue on the building surfaces will be used (i.e., scotch tape, masking tape, glues).
